Join us for an exquisite evening of vocal artistry featuring soprano Andrea Chenoweth Wells and mezzo-soprano Ryu-Kyung Kim. Both artists are esteemed members of the University of Dayton faculty and bring impressive international experience from stages like Carnegie Hall to our intimate Drawing Room. This performance features a curated selection of operatic and art song repertoire performed by two of the region's most distinguished voices. As with all our Drawing Room Chamber Concerts, this event is free and open to the public with no reservations required.

Part of Hayner’s annual Jazz in March series, this concert features the Premazzi/Nasser Quartet. The evening opens with a short interview with the artists, followed by a live jazz performance curated and hosted by pianist Keigo Hirakawa. Seating is first-come, first-served.

Drawing Room Chamber Concert

The Drawing Room Chamber Series is pleased to host the University of Dayton Woodwind Quintet for a performance showcasing the vibrant colors and versatility of wind instruments. Comprised of UD’s esteemed faculty and distinguished regional professionals, the quintet is known for its technical precision and engaging interpretations of both classic and contemporary repertoire. This intimate concert offers a unique look at the collaborative spirit of the flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and horn in the Hayner’s historic setting. Like all concerts in this series, the event is free and open to the public, with no reservations required.

Mrs. Hayner’s Birthday Tea

Sunday, April 19 & Thursday, April 23, 2026 • 2:00 pm

Location: Mansion & Ballroom

Admission: $20 per person • Tickets required

Each spring, Hayner honors the birthday of founder Mary Jane Hayner with an elegant afternoon tea. Guests enjoy a traditional tea service followed by a special program of music and poetry. This year’s program features an Americana theme in recognition of America 250.

Tickets will open in January 2026. Seating is limited.

Drawing Room Chamber Concert

April 28th, 2026 at 7:30 PM

Experience the ethereal and elegant pairing of flute and harp as we welcome Leslie Stratton and Gretchen Germann to our April Drawing Room Chamber Concert. Leslie Stratton, the celebrated Principal Harpist of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra since 1995, is joined by flutist Gretchen Germann, a dedicated educator and active performer with ensembles like the Yellow Springs Chamber Orchestra. Together, they will perform a delicate and evocative program that highlights the unique tonal colors and intricate interplay between these two classic instruments. This intimate performance offers a perfect opportunity to enjoy world-class chamber music in the historic, resonant setting of the Hayner Mansion. As always, the concert is free and open to the public with no reservations required.

Juneteenth Opening Celebration with Deron Bell Band

Friday, June 19, 2026 • 6:30 pm

Location: Hayner Courtyard

Admission: Free

In collaboration with I.D.E.A. Troy, Hayner will host a Juneteenth Opening Celebration ahead of the community festival at McKaig & Race Park. Guests will enjoy a children’s art exhibit, light hors d’oeuvres, and a live performance by the Deron Bell Band presenting The History of Funk Music in Ohio.
