Story Submission Guidelines & Usage Terms
Troy-Hayner Cultural Center 50th Anniversary Project
Thank you for sharing your story, memory, or photographs with the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center. These submissions help preserve the history, spirit, and community impact of Hayner for future generations.
By submitting content through the Hayner story submission form, you agree to the terms outlined below.
1. Grant of License & Copyright Permission
By submitting a written story, photograph, or other material (“the Work”), you grant the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, and irrevocable license to use your submission.
This includes the right to:
- Publish, reproduce, and distribute the Work
- Edit, format, or adapt the Work for clarity, length, and production needs
- Use the Work in print and digital formats, including but not limited to books, websites, exhibits, social media, and promotional materials related to the Center
You retain ownership of your original work. Granting this license allows Hayner to share and preserve your contribution as part of its 50th anniversary and historical archives.
2. Editorial Rights
The Troy-Hayner Cultural Center reserves the right to make minor edits to submitted materials for clarity, grammar, length, or layout while preserving the original intent and meaning of your submission.
Not all submissions may appear in printed materials; however, all accepted submissions may be archived for historical and educational purposes.
3. Image & Likeness Release
If your submission includes photographs:
- You confirm that you have permission from all recognizable individuals shown in the images to grant this usage license.
- If a photograph includes a minor (under 18 years of age), you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of the minor and have the authority to grant this permission.
- You grant permission for the images to be used in print, digital, promotional, and archival materials related to the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center.
4. Attribution & Anonymity
You may choose how your submission is credited:
- With your name
- Without your name
- Anonymously
While every effort will be made to honor attribution preferences, placement and formatting decisions remain at the discretion of the Center.
5. No Compensation
Submissions are voluntary. Contributors understand and agree that no monetary compensation, royalties, or fees will be provided for the use of submitted materials.
6. Contributor Warranties
By submitting content, you confirm that:
- You are the original creator and copyright holder of the Work, or have permission to submit it
- Your submission does not infringe upon the rights of any third party, including copyright, privacy, or publicity rights
- The information provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center and its representatives from any claims, damages, or legal expenses arising from a breach of these warranties.
8. Acceptance of Terms
Submission of content through the Hayner story form constitutes acceptance of these Story Submission Guidelines & Usage Terms.
