Travel Through the Decades

Celebrate 50 years of the Hayner Center by stepping back in time! As you make your way around the grounds, you'll discover hands-on activities inspired by five different decades, each hosted by one of our community partners.

1970s

Hosted by Altrusa International of Troy, Ohio

Travel back to the '70s with classic crafts and games! Make God's Eyes, try your hand at macramé, and enjoy nostalgic favorites like Hungry Hungry Hippos, Uno, Duck, Duck, Goose, and more. You might even find a fun photo opportunity waiting for you.

1980s

The '80s are coming to life with help from Scott Family McDonald's! Stop by to see what surprises they have planned—and keep an eye out for a special guest. (Hint: he might be purple!)

1990s

Hosted by Troy Noon Optimist

Step right up for classic carnival fun! Try your luck at ring toss and giant dice games for a chance to win prizes while reliving the spirit of a '90s community carnival.

2000s

Hosted by Troy Recreation Association (Troy Rec)

Create your own Hayner House keepsake with a special Perler bead craft. Volunteers and parents will be available to help younger participants complete their creations using the finishing irons.

Step inside the game truck and challenge your friends to some friendly competition. Whether you're a seasoned gamer or just looking to have a little fun, there's something for everyone. The truck will have every current gaming console including a Playstation, Nintendo Switch and Xbox.

Keep an eye out for Chase from Paw Patrol! He'll be making appearances throughout the day whenever he's not off on an important rescue. If you don't spot him right away, don't worry—he'll be back for more photos and high-fives soon!
