Mixed Media Cake

Join us in celebrating Troy-Hayner Cultural Center’s 50th Anniversary with a stunning and creative Mixed Media Cake! This year we celebrate with a GOLDEN JUBILEE theme! This festive mixed media cake blends art, texture, and holiday magic to honor 50 years of creativity and community at the Hayner! We will be using acrylic paint, paint pens, assorted gold themed tissue, napkins, book pages and paper doilies to resemble cake layers and icing! A creative class for all ages! Light refreshments served as we create and

celebrate the season and 50 years!

All the beautiful rooms at the Hayner will be decorated by various designers as we celebrate the season. Art instructors Kelly Rank & Ginger Godfrey will be designing the Fulker-Nichols Gallery room.

Your completed masterpieces will be displayed in the gallery room and will be returned January 4th, after the exhibit ends.

Students will build a strong art education foundation through a large variety of mediums and techniques. Participants will learn about basic art design principles, as well as be exposed to iconic artists and cultural styles. *Creativity is a messy process. Students should dress appropriately.*

Meet our Homeschool Art instructor.

Dana Leonard received a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from Ohio University in Art Education. She taught Art at various Troy City Schools for 6 years, until her first child was born in 2012. Dana is a homeschool mom of three children: ages 14, 12, & 8. She has been teaching private art lessons and homeschool co-op art classes for the past 10 years. In her limited spare time, Dana Leonard loves to paint.
