This year’s Tea features Ginger Godfrey presents Heirloom Santas.
Ginger Godfrey was born and raised in Darke County, Ohio. She is a versatile artist who started painting in her early 40s. She began painting with her own children and grandchildren’s portraits, using the Old Masters’ technique with oils.
She also studied sculpting at the Rosewood Arts Center in Kettering, Ohio and in Saint Charles, Missouri. Ginger has created many Heirloom Santas. She sculpted their faces, hands and boots from clay and designed their suits from articles of clothing and special mementos from those she made the Santas for. Each Santa she crafted is a one-of-a-kind family heirloom.
Ginger Godfrey is a multifaceted artist. She studied the Tiffany as well as lead channel came stained-glass construction methods in Tipp City, Ohio and Indiana University and has created numerous stained-glass works of art. She has also tried her hand at throwing pottery and enjoys the art of recycling trash into treasure.
After retiring as a registered dental hygienist, Ginger and her husband Gary decided to winter in Florida for a few months each year. After taking several Bob Ross classes, she loved the wet-on-wet technique and wanted to share her gift with others. She became a Certified Bob Ross instructor in March 2012 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. She currently offers painting classes at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center and the Bradford Library. Most of the paintings on display here are paintings completed as examples for her classes.
Come listen to Ginger's entertaining presentation on the process and importance of creating heirlooms for family and friends. You will quickly discover why Ginger's classes at the Hayner Center are nearly always sold out.
