Hosting

a concert for Troy, Ohio PorchFest?

Picture

The 2023 Troy, Ohio PorchFest will be located within the Southwest Historic District. (See map) You don’t need to have a friend who is a musician to be part of the PorchFest. We can help. There are musicians who need music hosts! It is not necessary to have a porch to be a host. You could host a band in a side yard or anyplace that is safe for folks to stand around and listen to music. Each concert is one hour long with new concerts beginning each hour from noon to 5 pm. The PorchFest committee will receive your application and help you make it a successful day. We would like to have 40 hosts for 40 bands.
You would be signing up for a
one-hour music set at your location.

This festival is based on community generosity.
We encourage you to be gracious with the musicians.
We ask you to provide:

1. Water for your band.
2. Bathroom facilities for your band.
3.  A comfortable place for musicians to rest while they are waiting to perform.
4. A comfortable and safe place to perform
5.  Protection from the sun and elements.

Musicians will travel from all over the state to participate on your porches. Many porches also had thoughtful snacks and refreshments to enrich the experience of our generous musicians.

All applications will be reviewed as quickly as possible. One of our Neighborhood Managers will connect with you within a week or so to set up a time to review your ideas for a stage location and talk over other details with you. Your Neighborhood Manager will help you, your musicians and your audience have a great Troy, Ohio PorchFest experience.

Once your application is accepted, we will ask you to review a potential musician/band and provide approval before the final match is done. A musician or band won't be invited to your porch until you provide your approval. Musicians will not know who is reviewing them. Once you choose a band, you will be asked to connect with your musicians and make sure they know who you are, where you are, how to reach you, where they will park, etc.

We will send you a confirmation that we have received your application within 24 working hours.

I want to host a musician or band for the Troy, Ohio PorchFest on Saturday, September 9, 2023.

It's ok, we know this is often a difficult thing to answer. If you leave this blank we will call you to talk about it.
Potential Sponsorship Opportunity: The Troy, Ohio PorchFest Sponsorship committee is committed to obtaining sponsors in support our valued musicians. Can you recommend a business or group that might be interested in supporting your concert? Please do not feel any obligation to make recommendations. Our Sponsorship Committee is hard at work helping to support your concert and live music in Troy, Ohio. If you would like to have us contact any of your supporters, please provide contact information and a brief explanation of your relationship to this business. ie: Is this your employer? Are you a customer? Your uncle owns the business?
There is an important safety issue with the use of tents. All tents must be staked or appropriately weighted. Even if the tent is on your own property the committee asks that you protect the musicians and guests by preventing your tent from taking flight and causing injury and bodily harm. Tents have taken flight at this festival in the past and it is important to prevent this unnecessary danger. Please contact your Neighborhood Manager or Terrilynn at the Hayner if you need assistance or information about securing your tent. We are happy to help.
Indemnity: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Representative (you, on  behalf of household) agrees to save harmless and defend the indemnified parties (Troy-Hayner Cultural Center, The Board of Directors of the Hayner, Hayner staff and volunteers, The Troy City School System, the musicians providing a concert for you, and concert helpers), from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, fines, causes of action suits and liability of every kind including court costs and attorneys’ fees for injury to or death of any person for damage to any property, for loss of business, for consequential damages and all other damages (collectively, “damages”) arising out of or in connection with this event.
