The Cardinal Cabaret is an exciting new singer/songwriter series run by Shannon Clark. These concerts take place in various locations in Southwest Ohio. Seth Canan
Seth Canan is well-loved in Troy, Ohio as a creative musician who moves through a wide variety of genres and styles. He owns the Neighborhood Recording Studio where he lives his dreams of making and sharing music. John Hendry of Trojan City Music helps us understand Canan’s style: “If Angus Young and Tom Petty got together and listened to a bunch of Neil Young and some Led Zeppelin with some Foo Fighters sprinkled on top. (He) Writes about loss of innocence. (He helps us feel the) Little feelings that have no names.”

Shannon Clark is a tireless promoter of music in our area. He fronts the well-loved band Shannon Clark and the Sugar which is a Midwest Americana band with Country Roots and influences. He manages the Cardinal Cabaret singer/songwriter series in Greenville and Troy, Ohio. He runs a powerhouse spotify playlist which promotes up and coming artists across the country. He plays his original songs with a big heart and relentless dedication.

Joe Howard
Music came to Joe Howard the same way that learning to speak words came to him. He comes from long line of musical people that instinctively express the important things in life through music. He knew as a young kid that playing music would help define who he was and how he lived. He finds inspiration in Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty as well as artists like Jason Isbell. Joe Howard is a long-time member of Shannon Clark and the Sugar band. You can find him playing his own brand of Americana in local taphouses, wineries and venues in the area.

Matthew Douglas Simpson is a singer/songwriter from Cynthiana, Kentucky. He calls his unique mix of music “Rural Route Rock & Roll.” He plays a mix of alt-country, blues, and soul with gripping storytelling and sharp songwriting. Matthew has shared the stage with many amazing artists such as Charles Wesley Godwin, Mark Wills, Craig Wayne Boyd, 7eventh Time Down and others. With the trials of life as his inspiration, Simpson’s songs are a canvas filled with love, affliction and the hope that dwells between the two.

He is a staple in Cincinnati circles and is a regular at the Nashville Nights International Songwriter Festival in Odense, Denmark. Noah produces his own monthly songwriter showcase called “Noah Smith’s Crooner Circus.” He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music with a degree in Electronic Media, Music Production and Audio & Video Design.

Her songs share a love for country, folk and Americana. Her lyrics are tender, sensitive and speak to the heart.
