Writing for Young Authors

Is your youngster a budding author? Students will learn about writing through the genres (types of writing) following methods encouraged through the Ohio and National Writing Project. Students will receive one-on-one instruction and an opportunity to share their writing with an audience. Bring a writing journal or notebook to class.

• 6 Tuesdays beginning July 6
• 2:30 - 3:30 pm

Teaching Your Child To Read
Ideal for homeschool teachers or parents interested in working directly with their children. Learning to read is one of the great joys of living! Come and learn how to spark this joy in your young student. We will learn about “performing” read alouds, increasing comprehension, reading fluency, phonics, phonetic awareness, using vocabulary and about leaders in the field of reading. The instructor is a licensed Ohio teacher and a National Board Certified teacher.

• 6 Tuesdays beginning July 6
• 11:30 - 12:30 pm
• Fee: $ 30

Teaching Your Child To Write
Ideal for homeschool teachers or parents interested in working directly with their children. In this course, we will learn strategies and methods that will increase your confidence in teaching writing to your child or young adult. Through hand-outs and hands-on activities, we will learn to write through the genres. This class will include many discussions and practical ideas. The instructor is a National Board Certified teacher and trained through the National Writing Project.

Payment must be received to guarantee spot in class. Payment is due one week
prior to the first class meeting. Your payment is your guarantee to hold a
spot in a class. Payment can be made by check or money order made payable in
the instructor's name or cash.

Partial financial assistance is available for
