Exploring Art for Preschoolers
A parent participation class. Have fun while exploring the creativity of your child. Preschoolers will enjoy a variety of hands-on art projects geared toward younger children. We will be working with a large variety of kid friendly objects. Come dressed for mess!

Splash Art Workshop for Kids
Back by popular demand, this class offers exciting and messy art projects that kids will love, and the best part is parents won’t have to clean up any of the mess! Each week we’ll explore a different project through fun media and techniques. Children will produce interesting finished artwork and have a blast making it. Kids love this class because they get to experience a truly creative environment without following the usual rules of art classrooms. Please send kids in old clothes.

Youth Art
During this class I hope to help my students build a stronger knowledge of art, by teaching basic art and design principles, as well as exposing students to art history and famous artists and art styles. Lesson plans will cover a wide variety of mediums and techniques.

Colored Pencil
This is an on-going class for new students as well as those students who have colored pencil experience. New students should register with the Hayner before attending their first class. You will be provided projects and instructed in techniques needed. Returning students should bring their own photo. Help will be given for choosing colors. (For a first time attendee there is an additional $20 fee for supplies above the regular class fee.) Hone your skills as you create a realistic portrait, landscape or still life.

Watercolor Studio
This class is designed to improve your skills in watercolor no matter your experience level; whether you’re a beginner or an experienced painter, this is the class for you! Portrait and Figure Open Studio
Do you like to paint portraits or do figure studies? Every week there will be a different model (clothed.) Whether you work in pastels, watercolors, acrylics, oils, charcoal or another medium, come and enjoy the challenge of representing the figure in art. This class will not have an instructor. Just come and work from the model. The fee will cover the charge for the model.

Beginning Stained Glass
Students will be instructed on the basics in the art of stained glass. This will include tools and their use, cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering, applying hobby came and polishing to finish your art pieces. Students should bring to class an Exacto knife as well as a sharp pair of scissors, and plan to bring a lunch.

Intermediate Watercolor
If you have taken a watercolor class at least once; come join us! This class is all about YOU. The instructor presents per requests from students. Whatever your interest, just ask Donna and she will answer immediately or the following week. This class is tailored to your wishes. See Donna’s website at www.donnapierceclark.com to view the diverse water-media she paints in (acrylics and watercolor on various surfaces--watercolor paper, watercolor canvas, Ampersand Gesso board, yupo, and others). She incorporates ink, masking fluid, collage and so much more. Her supply list is a suggestion. You will not be “copying” Donna’s paintings (unless the class requests this). Please feel free to bring your own supplies, your own ideas, photos, still life set-ups, etc. Students learn from and inspire one another.

Floral Fantasy Cards
Perfect for any occasion, these “flowery” cards are colorful, attractive and fun to make. Scrapbooking papers, embellishments, and techniques, along with the Cuttlebug machine will be used to make these lovely spring cards. Students should bring scrapbooking adhesive, pop dots, mini glue dots, a bone folder, and scissors to class. All other supplies included in fee.

Fantastic Folds #1 Iris Folding
Create four beautiful cards using the intricate technique of iris folding. After you learn the technique for the first card the other three will be a

Making Fine Silver Jewelry
Make your own fine silver jewelry (99.9% silver.) Using metal clay, you can use rubber stamps, molds, or even carve to make your jewelry. You will learn to add fittings, set gem stones and glass, texturing, and using slip to connect the pieces together. We will be firing and polishing the jewelry. Supply fee includes: 20 grams of metal clay, and one piece of dichroic glass. You can be as creative as you want to make pendants, earrings or rings.

Punch Art II
Using punches, die cuts, a little rubber stamping and your imagination, create some of the cutest cards you’ll ever see. Papermaking For Beginners
See how you can use your junk mail when I show you how to rip it up and put it in an old blender to whip up a one of a kind piece of handmade paper in just three minutes! Use templates to create invitations and envelopes as well as using Bisque Clay molds to make gorgeous 3D forms that can be chalked, painted, or embossed. You will never look at things quite the same again for you have everything available all around you. The possibilities are totally endless! Classes are held offsite. Advanced Papermaking
Six luscious pulp fibers will be used as well as Abaca to enhance your papers and make your paper strong and acid free. Add pulp painting and cookie cutters to give your paper added texture and dimension. The possibilities are incredibly endless for you can mix and match and create something that is truly out of this world! Classes are held offsite. Bead on Leather (Amulet Bag)
In this class you will learn to bead on leather using a 3 bead return stitch. The project will involve making a beaded amulet/medicine bag from the outline of your hand. Medicine/Amulet bags are common to all cultures on every continent and are as important today, as a means of healing, as any time in history. In this class you will be given an amulet and items to enhance your personal spirituality, from my collection of findings. Supplies included.
