Summer Classes - Below is a list of the classes on the schedule for the balance of the summer.


Fairy Workshop

Join us for a magical workshop full of wonder and enchantment. Based on the book Fairy Houses by Tracy Kane, the children will be encouraged to create their own fairy houses as well as create other fairy-inspired daily crafts. We will start each day with fairy songs, fairy stories, and fairy yoga. On the last day of the workshop, a gallery of the student-created fairy dwellings will be on display for families to view. All learning activities will be connected to ODE Early Learning Content Standards. Make checks payable to Tiffany Wall.

Papermaking for Children

Learn the basics of papermaking you can do at home. Pouring tubs will be available for all ages with many embellishments for you to add to your creations. Papermaking recipes, demonstrations and instructions will be provided. All materials are included in this class that will get your creative juices flowing and teach you to recycle household items into beautiful cards, holiday decorations, original wall art and more. This is a great class for parents or grandparents to attend with their children or grandchildren.

Watercolor Workshop Session I

A class for young people interested in learning the basics of tube watercolor painting. Students will learn to mix colors, work with various types of mediums including wet on wet, dry brush and other types of techniques. Class fee includes good quality tube watercolor paints, brush, and watercolor paper that the student can take home at the end of class.

Sand Painting

Native American sand painters have created designs on the southwest desert floor for centuries. Learn about the sand painters and how they make their amazing designs. Photos of original designs will be featured in this class to provide the inspiration for your to create your own sand painting.

Beginning Acrylic Painting
This class is open to all levels of art students. The goal is to get you comfortably started using acrylic paints with encouraging results. Demonstrations as well as individual attention will help guide you through your experience while working with this medium. Supplies needed on first day of class will be provided by the instructor. Supply list is available for download or will be provided upon request.

What do your eyes see in this photograph?


Work on perfecting your shot with a digital camera; see the details you may be missing. Learn how to see the whole shot while focusing on the details. You will also learn how to edit/enhance your photos to improve them even more. Minimal experience needed. Please bring to class a digital camera that has either a memory card or cord to connect to computer. Also, if available, bring a laptop. The instructor will have a laptop to share.

Beginning Stained Glass - 36” Dragonfly Garden Stake

Students will be instructed on the basics in the art of stained glass. This will include tools and their use, cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering, applying hobby came and polishing to finish your art piece. Students should bring to class an Exacto knife as well as a sharp pair of scissors, and plan to bring lunch.

Beginning Stained Glass - Mosaic Bowling Ball
Students will cut glass and glue them to the bowling ball. They will be able to create their own design or do a uniform pattern. When finished, the ball will be grouted. Students must provide their own bowling ball. Call instructor for instructions on preparing ball for class. Students should bring a small hair dryer to the last class. Students will need to have all of the pieces applied to the ball by the end of the second class. The third class will be for grouting. This process will not take the whole class to complete.

Intermediate Watercolor

If you have had some introductory classes in watercolor and want to try new approaches, techniques, or materials; this class is for you. Donna not only paints with watercolor, but also Open acrylics and water-soluble oils. Each student works at their own pace. See Donna’s work on her website: www.donnapierceclark.com. Supply list available for download on Hayner’s website or upon request and is just a suggestion, not a requirement. Your own supplies will work just fine. Cabochons
For those students with prior class experience with Elaine who are desiring to learn to wrap a cabochon, we begin with a pair or earrings, then holding multiple wires to create a bracelet, and last multiple wires and bending them around a shape. Pendants and Earrings in Wire
An introduction to working with wire jewelry. Students will create three new projects, using three forms of wire, learning three techniques, and take home three projects. Instructor supplies tools.

More Fun Folds
Students will learn creative new ways to fold cards that will really increase the “wow” factor of your creation. A minimum of four cards will be made. Please bring adhesive, scissors, bone folder and a paper cutter. All other supplies included in fee.

Pennsylvania Dutch Hex Signs

The traditional folk art “Hex Signs” hung on barns in the Pennsylvania countryside have been popular for years. Design your own sign using the well-known symbols used by the sign painters for good luck. All materials provided.

A Complete Papermaking Paradise
Learn how to create handmade paper in just 3 minutes and move on to fibers galore and templates to make fabulous one of a kind paper and projects! Cast Papermaking will also be introduced. Beading on Leather (Amulet Bag)
Learn the meditative practice of bead on leather. In this class you will learn how to use your hand as the template to create a beaded medicine or amulet bag. Medicine/amulet bags are common to all cultures on every continent and are as important today as a means of healing, as any time in history. In this class you will also learn how to select an amulet or items to enhance your personal spirituality, awareness and ability to heal yourself. Supplies included.
